Recently I have been going to bed fairly early each night (between 9 and 12) and to be fair I am actually enjoying it! I wake up nice and early too and its all quiet in the flat and stuff. Plus its quite nice knowing I am the only one awake and I get to see some of the frost and snow left behind; really nice. I tell you one thing if I was back home and my dog Bobby was twice his age younger (does that make sense?) I would take him out across the fields! Alas I think he is too old to be going out in the cold weather or can dogs go out in any weather at any age? Well if he can I shant take him out long; he collapses and has fits otherwise poor little mite.
So today I went Christmas shopping I have brought my Mother's gifts, half of my Dads and his fiance gifts, my best friends and I only have my sister and my secret santa to go and then I'll just have to wrap it up! I know what I'm getting the last two and I shall get them on Friday in Winton. It will be weird having all the gifts up and ready so early but sadly no tree put them underneath! Ah well I'll be home in exactly 14 days! In time to put the decorations up for my Ma and to give Bobby his early Christmas prezzie; a nice warm blanket for his basket :3
Anyway I was thinking today and other days as well what is it I really want to do in life? Well obviously I'd loveto write scripts full time but it is such a hard competition!!!! I know in reality about nine times out of ten my script will get rejected and not made into a feature film or television series or whatever. So I have decided to reel the money in to so what I love the most; spend quality time with mans best friend; DOGS!!!
Funnily enough my Mum did mention this before I went to uni but I thought you would need biology or science or something like that to work with any kind of animal. Turns out I should of done my research more throughly and saved a lot of money- thre are a few dog care and animal care part time courses out there!!! Why I didnt do that I'll never know.
But upon further investigation I have discovered that I really dont need qualifications to do this job! I would really love to work in a kennel and walk and groom and feed the dogs!!!
First off I have to learn to drive which is my goal for this summer; I'm gonna get a job here in Bournemouth and save up my money and then do a crash course in the summer (watch out people!)
The next summer I shall volunteer for the RSPCA or another dog charity to walk a dog; get some experience and see if I can handle the idea of looking after dogs for 24/7; though I think I suit this job perfectly fine; my Bionic dog Bobby has been through so many life and death experiences to which I am always on my own; first time he was fine had his tea and then he acted weird, started being ill and wouldnt come near me like he couldnt recognise me, So we took him straight to the vets; something to do with his ears being unbalanced and causing it. But he was fine the next day.
When he had a few fits I was straight over to him, stroking his paw until he came round.
Worst time was near the beginning of August. He became really ill and I was by myself; he wouldnt eat or touch his water. He went outside down the steps and fell down them, he lead there....I thought he was a gonner. I phoned my mother straight away and he came back in all by his self!!!! But he still wasnt right. I looked after him all night, helping him up and helping him lie down. I had work the next day but luckily Kim took him to the vets and gave him some tablets.
I looked after him so much that weekend, helping him drink water and oddly enough the only thing he would eat was fish!!!! Fish fingers all around and slowly and surely he became well again. I never thought he would recover to his old self after that but he is still a little bugger; sleeps in my mothers room all the time, climbs the stairs, still trots about on walks; he doesnt act like he is 15 though his eye sight and ears do show his age!
So yea my plans for the future in the summer learn about dogs; via teaching myself and whatever and volunteering during the summer whilst I finish up my degree, and then I shall go full time in a kennel hopefully!!! That will give me cash that I can save to move out and also the time and relaxtion to write scripts in my spare time- see everything is all planned out I am sooooo excited about this!!!!
